My baby girl has a ton a hair bows. Truth be told, she’s starting to grow out of them… but I’m not. I kinda wish she would stay a little girl who wears hair bows all her life. But I know that won’t happen.
In the meantime, we needed a better way to store all of her bows that were just shoved into a box in her closet. It was a bad system and it was driving me crazy.
But I didn’t want to spend any money, obvi, so I made her a pretty, hanging bow organizer with stuff I had around the house. I turned a couple of old boxes into a custom, chic looking organizer.
All it took was two old boxes, spray glue, fabric, ribbon, upholstery tacks and a staple gun.
I started by picking two old boxes around the same size and glued them together with spray glue to make them thicker.
I cut an old piece of scrap fabric into the shape of the boxes. I also glued them to the front of the box with the spray glue.
After the fabric was glued to the front and pulled tight, I flipped the boxes over and stapled the fabric all the way around.
I found some ribbon that matched the fabric and cut it into three long pieces, then stapled each end of the ribbon to the back.
In order to keep the ribbon secure along the length of the organizer, I used upholstery tacks every 6 inches or so.
To hang the organizer on the wall, I stapled a long piece of jute string to the back.
Then it was ready to hang and fill with bows! You could put the ribbon on the board in a criss-cross design for a different look or use the board for photos. There are a lot of options.
