I don’t know that you can find a mom or dad who loves to shop with young kids. Do you? I don’t. Especially not when I need to go into the dressing room and try something on. Whining kids at your feet will make any outfit look bad, trust me.
Thankfully there are ways to buy just about anything without needing to leave your house.
It’s frustrating when you buy clothes and have to jump through a lot of hoops to return or exchange something that didn’t work. And worse, you’re out all the money you paid, until the company processes your return and then your refund. And most of the time, that takes a while.
That’s why I decided to try Amazon Prime Wardrobe. And I’ll gladly do it again.

1- Start by browsing options on all types of clothes. You can search by type, size, color, etc. You can also check out jewelry and accessories.
I had an upcoming wedding and needed a fancy dress. I was not at all interested in going store to store to try on different dresses. It’s just not something I have the patience or time for.
I used Amazon Prime Wardrobe to search through thousands of options to pick out some dresses I thought might work. Amazon has such a wide range of products I was able to find several dresses in different styles that I thought might work.
I ultimately decided on six different dresses to try, along with a couple of swimsuits, and within a week they were all at my door to try on!
Important Note: Not all clothes on Amazon are eligible for Prime Wardrobe. I would suggest searching from the Prime Wardrobe page. But that search may lead you to items that are not eligible. That can happen if you change to a different size, color, etc. or if you click on related items. You will know which items qualify if you see an indication to ‘Add Item To Prime Wardrobe Cart.’
2- Add what you want to try on to your Prime Wardrobe cart, up to eight items, and have it shipped right to your house. You pay ZERO dollars upfront. *But you do have to already have Amazon Prime to be eligible to use Prime Wardrobe.
Important Note: You won’t get Prime-like 2-day shipping on Prime Wardrobe items because they ship it all in one box to be efficient. They estimate shipping time is 4-6 days.
3- When your box arrives, you have seven days to try everything on in your own home, decide what you want to keep, and send back the rest.
Important Note: To avoid buying any items you don’t want, make sure you try everything on and send back the box well within the 7-day window.
I actually loved most of the options I tried on. Since I knew what the dresses would cost when I added them to my Prime Wardrobe cart, I didn’t need to worry about the price, just about fit style, and comfort.
I can’t stress enough the benefit of being able to try these clothes on in your own home, at your own pace. It’s better than trying something on in a dressing room where you can’t really move around much. And it’s definitely way better than needing to buy something before trying it on at all.
In full disclosure, I didn’t end up buying any of these dresses for the wedding. I needed something a little more fancy. But that didn’t stop me from buying a few awesome dresses for other occasions.
I bought this pink floral wrap dress with shorts. It’s great for a ton of different occasions, it’s flattering at the waist for all sizes, and it’s super light and comfortable.
And I plan to get this dark pink dress with ruffle sleeves in a smaller size.
4- Once you’ve decided, go into your Orders on the Amazon website or app and indicate which items you want to keep and which ones you want to return. It will ask you why you’re returning items… whether it’s because of size, style, etc.
5- You’ll then be charged for anything you plan to keep right then, so you can add them right to your closet.
6- For the items you plan to return, just package those back up the way they were shipped, put them back in the box, seal the box with the provided sealing system and add the provided, pre-paid shipping sticker to the outside.
7- You’ll need to drop off the box at any UPS location.
Important Reminder: To avoid buying any items you don’t want, make sure you try everything on and send back the box well within the 7-day window.
