I am currently in love with mid-century modern design. So when we moved into our new home recently, I wanted to bring a lot of that style in with some new pieces I needed. I also needed to do it on a small budget.
And this credenza is one of my first successes.

This gorgeous light wood piece with sleek lines and skinny peg legs was actually first spotted by my husband on Facebook Marketplace. He was on the hunt for a piece with a purpose. He wanted a place to house his record player and record collection.
He found his function. And I loved it for its style.
Pieces like this from some major brands like Wayfair, West Elm, and World Market can range from $500 up to $1,000.

But you can sometimes find them at a great, budget price from retailers like Walmart and Target.

Since we found this beauty on Facebook Marketplace, we were able to snag it for $100.
Buying secondhand, which always has a place in my heart, also has the added benefits of of cutting down on waste, and decreasing carbon footprints created by manufacturing and shipping from stores.

Another key way to accentuate the mid-century style is to add more clean lines like I’ve done with the round mirror. And by adding natural accents like I’ve done with the large green leaves.
Altogether, it creates a timeless look with clean lines and no clutter.
