If you’ve seen some of my other posts you know I love Pinterest. I pin tons of pretty things, but I actually do very few of them. And I’m always looking to make things even faster and easier.. or I don’t have all the supplies and want to make it work with what I already have around.
That’s how this kids’ ornament happened. (more…)
Being new to Florida.. and loving it.. I wanted to add a little coastal character to my Christmas tree. So I bought a few adorable ornaments and made some of my own. Check out how easy these are to make. (more…)
I can think of few things that make a home more cozy, comfortable and pleasant than candles. I always have some burning in the evening and I love the seasonal scents. They also make great gifts for family, friends and kids’ teachers. The problem is they are usually really expensive. I love Yankee Candles but can’t afford them. The few I’ve had and cherished were gifts.
But great news! You don’t need to buy great candles.. because you can make them on your own!! (more…)
My sister is crazy creative and talented. And her house is always decked out for the holidays. It’s such a joy to see all the hard work she puts into it. Check out some of these amazing and affordable DIY Halloween decorations and how you can make them for your own home.
I pin a ton of cool stuff on Pinterest, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they all work out. I tend to do things pretty clumsily, which was probably pretty evident from my post on my love hate relationship with Pinterest. So if I can pull something off, that means it’s pretty much foolproof. So here are some foolproof DIY Halloween decorations that turned out pretty well and were a lot of fun to do with the kids. (more…)
When talking about what my kids wanted to be for Halloween, it was a quick decision because they’re currently OBSESSED with Pokemon. But a quick search online showed Pokemon costumes well over $40 and $50. No thanks. I like to make my kids’ costumes anyway. It just seems more fun to me. (more…)
Decorating for Halloween doesn’t have to be scary.. unless you want it to be.. bwahahahahahah. (Did that sound creepy in your head? It did in mine.)
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love fall weather, my birthday is in October, I love scary movies.. what’s not to love?! So I get excited when it’s time to indulge in candy, costumes and classic horror films. Exorcist is my all time favorite movie. What’s yours?
Another thing I love about Halloween is getting the kids involved in decorating. Partly because I want them to love it like I do, but also crafting and making it fun hopefully takes any of the creepiness out of it since they’re still a little young for really ghoulish stuff.
Here’s a few DIY projects inspired by Pinterest of course. You can check out my Frugal Florida Mom Pinterest DIY Halloween board for these ideas and a ton more. (more…)
My little girl loves going to the salon to get manicures and pedicures. It’s completely my fault for getting her hooked on it. I mean, what’s not to love? A warm bath, a massage, pretty polish. Feet never had it so good!
But alas, when we downsized to one family income, some luxuries had to go. But worry not! My baby girl can still get pampered… at home.
I created my own home nail spa for very little money. She still feels like she’s getting the four star princess treatment, and it’s a good bonding opportunity for us as well. (more…)
