I went on a bit of a shopping spree at the grocery store recently. I was standing there looking at all the kitchen utensils and gadgets and thinking, “Wow, those are cool.” So I grabbed a few (several) of them.
But I’m not one to buy gadgets that sit in the drawer and don’t get used and therefore waste money. So what I got was super affordable and they make a big impact on cooking healthier meals for my family. (more…)

And while working to get fit, you need the proper workout gear so you can be comfortable and motivated. I don’t know about you, but when I have a new workout outfit it helps to motivate me to get my butt out the door and run. Because I look good. Who wants to keep that a secret. 😉
But workout clothes have to be affordable. I’m sure Lululemon workout gear is probably the best ever. I mean, for those prices, it must automatically burn calories right? If I need a second mortgage to afford it, automatic calorie burning or not, I’m going to have to pass unless I can find it super cheap at a thrift or consignment store.

Me 6 months ago: Huffing and puffing, stops, bends over, sucks in air, almost pukes. “I hate running, why am I doing this?”
Me now: Huffing and puffing, keeps going. “I hate running, but I love that I’m doing it.”
How I made it from one point to the other can be summed up in one word, stubbornness. Let’s call it a gift I was born with. If I start something I will become as good at it as I possibly can or die trying. And since I’m relatively healthy there’s a slim chance that I’ll die running.
I wanted to be more fit and healthy. I chose running because it’s something I thought I could never do. Because I live by my favorite quote:
