I love Halloween and I’m a pretty big horror movie fan. Around this time of year, I start binging my favorite classic horror films.
I would say my favorites are:
- Friday The 13th
- The Exorcist
- The Shining
You may have noticed, most of them are from the 70s… “arguably the most fruitful and consistently excellent decade for horror cinema,” according to Collider. And I totally agree.
To honor a few of my favorite scary movies I made shirt designs that true classic horror movie fans will love. (more…)
The start of the school year can be stressful for kids, parents, and teachers.
And just as parents are breathing a sigh of relief that summer camp costs or DIY entertainment are over, teachers are taking over the care and feeding of our little humans.
Here are a few cute gift ideas to help teachers start the year off on a good foot. (more…)
Debt can make you lie awake at night feeling like you have a weight on your chest.
It can be hard to breathe.
It can wreck your health and your marriage.
And it snowballs. Not the good, Dave Ramsey kind of snowball, where you pay off one little debt, then a bigger one and a bigger one. It’s the one where your debt gets bigger and bigger until it rolls right over you.
I have a confession to make. I love Mother’s Day. I mean, what other day of the year do you have kids and husband fawning over you and constantly telling you to relax… and sometimes that even happens. But that’s not the confession. The confession is that I am so self-centered, I think Mother’s Day is all about me. But it’s not. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for an amazing mother of my own. But… back to the self-centered part… I tend to leave my own mother’s gift to the last minute. :I
If you’re anything like me, rest assured that mother’s day gifts don’t have to cost a ton of money or take a ton of time to pick out, buy, or make. What matters is that the gift comes from the heart. It can be as simple as a book you know she’ll love, a cute coffee mug or a comfy pair of pajamas.
I also have the perfect gift card covered for you in this Mother’s Day Gift Card Bundle! (more…)
All I can say is thank goodness school is almost over. Between running to dance classes, baseball practices, and PTO meetings, I’m pretty much exhausted. But I don’t want the year to end without properly thanking the saint-like teachers who have nurtured my kids and helped mold them into smart and kind people.
Here are some super simple ideas for teacher gifts that you can make for just a few dollars each, as well as tons of printable gift tags to make them look perfect. No need to sift through my previous posts and pay separately for each tag, you can get them all here in one bundle for just 99 cents! (more…)
Birthday parties can be a ton of fun and have a ton of character without costing a ton of money.
My son’s recent Pokemon party was a blast… and it was fun to plan too. With vibrant colors and images to work with, I came up with some fun and affordable ways to put a huge smile on his face.
They can work for your party too. And save you a ton of money! (more…)
Even though we don’t get much of a winter down here in South Florida, I still relish the start of Spring. It’s such a breath of fresh air. It’s a time to renew and refresh your goals and your plans and clean out some clutter.
It’s also a great time to spruce up your home with some bright and light colors. And you can do it easily without spending a lot of money. Don’t buy new furniture or rugs.. just changing out a few accents will make a huge difference.
I’m a really big fan of everything Dave Ramsey. Positive motivation, good values and smart ways to save money? Yes and yes, please. I’ve done his cash envelope budgeting system religiously in the past. And it’s one of the few ways I’ve actually been able to stick to a budget and save money.
But I’ve since switched to a cashless system. And it might be right for you too. That’s why I’ve created a free Cashless Budget Tracker that you can download and print for free. (more…)

On the list of things my kids love… Pokemon ranks pretty close to the top. So, what better way for them to tell their friends and classmates ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ than with their favorite thing?
