As a mom, there are many small and sometimes major moments that signal to you that your kids are getting older and they’re no longer babies. Some of these moments cause a sigh of relief… like when they’re potty trained, when they can feed themselves and when they finally stop sticking everything in their mouths. But some are a little more bittersweet… like when they’re embarrassed to have you kiss them when you drop them off at school, or when your daughter starts to rebuff the pretty, fluffy bows you’ve been sticking in her hair for years. That last one especially stings me lately. (more…)
I have a confession to make. I love Mother’s Day. I mean, what other day of the year do you have kids and husband fawning over you and constantly telling you to relax… and sometimes that even happens. But that’s not the confession. The confession is that I am so self-centered, I think Mother’s Day is all about me. But it’s not. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for an amazing mother of my own. But… back to the self-centered part… I tend to leave my own mother’s gift to the last minute. :I
If you’re anything like me, rest assured that mother’s day gifts don’t have to cost a ton of money or take a ton of time to pick out, buy, or make. What matters is that the gift comes from the heart. It can be as simple as a book you know she’ll love, a cute coffee mug or a comfy pair of pajamas.
I also have the perfect gift card covered for you in this Mother’s Day Gift Card Bundle! (more…)
As a creative soul, I dreamed of getting a Cricut for a while. I pinned endless blog posts about amazing creations but figured it wouldn’t ever be for me. That is until I found a way to get it affordably and start creating without spending a ton of money.
Now I love my Cricut and can’t imagine not having it. I’ve made my family tons of cute things, I made nearly all of last year’s Christmas presents with it, and I’m even making a little money on custom shirts.
If you’re dreaming of getting a jump on your Cricut dream, try some of these ways to do it on a cheapskate’s budget. (more…)
All I can say is thank goodness school is almost over. Between running to dance classes, baseball practices, and PTO meetings, I’m pretty much exhausted. Here are some super simple ideas for teacher gifts that you can make for just a few dollars each, as well as tons of printable gift tags to make them look perfect. No need to sift through my previous posts and pay separately for each tag, you can get them all here in one bundle for just 99 cents! (more…)
We’re a big baseball family primarily because of my husband. He’s a lifelong St Louis Cardinals fan and we love going to games whenever we can.
We’re also lucky to live in Southwest Florida where lots of teams come for spring training.
But going to the ballpark can be a huge expense, especially with kids, and especially if you don’t plan ahead.
So check out this checklist before you go so you can save a ton of cash. (more…)

Even though we don’t get much of a winter down here in South Florida, I still relish the start of Spring. It’s such a breath of fresh air. It’s a time to renew and refresh your goals and your plans and clean out some clutter.
It’s also a great time to spruce up your home with some bright and light colors. And you can do it easily without spending a lot of money. Don’t buy new furniture or rugs.. just changing out a few accents will make a huge difference. (more…)
We’ve all been there… whether you’re a mom or not… at our breaking point. And it’s usually self-inflicted. (more…)

I’m a really big fan of everything Dave Ramsey. Positive motivation, good values and smart ways to save money? Yes and yes, please. I’ve done his cash envelope budgeting system religiously in the past. And it’s one of the few ways I’ve actually been able to stick to a budget and save money.
But I’ve since switched to a cashless system. And it might be right for you too. That’s why I’ve created a free Cashless Budget Tracker that you can download and print for free. (more…)
